Corporate Achievements:
Chanda Kochhar - One of the most talented women in India who has been doing well in whatever occupation she had taken. Currently she is the CEO of ICICI Bank which is one of the leading banks in India. She is one of the top 25 most powerful women in the Asia Pacific region and is the topmost Indian women in the list.
Arundhati Bhattacharya - She was the first Indian woman to become the head of India's biggest bank the State Bank of India commonly known as SBI. Arundhati has also made it to the Forbes list of most powerful women and she was ranked at the 36th position in the world.
Indra Nooyi – Indra Nooyi was awarded the title for the third most powerful women in business by fortune in 2014 she is the chairperson and CEO of the second largest food and beverage company in the world, PepsiCo. Though settles in America, she has a very strong base and is from the southern part of India.
Making a Difference To People:
Chavvi Rajawat - Was the first woman of India who rejected a good corporate job in order to be a sarpanch of Soda, which is the name of a village that is located 60 km from Jaipur. Today, because of her efforts, Soda has many facilities which include rainwater harvesting, toilet facilities, etc.
Sairee Chahal: She started a company named ‘Sheroes’ in 2014, which was the first of its kind, giving job opportunities for women who are on a career break either due to child birth or some family emergency which demands their attention. With the help of this portal, thousands of women have got back into the corporate world; truly a women empowerment drive that is yielding results.
Politics:
Kanimozhi Most popularly known as the daughter of former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr.M.Karunanidhi, she has in fact struggled her way to the top in a man-world. Though we can say that she has politics imbibed in her blood, her race to the top has been very inspirational. From being a poet, to uplifting the cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu to her support to women empowerment, Kanimozhi and Aravindan are names that are common in the state for making a difference to people.
Mayawati:
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for four times is in itself an achievement. But the path that she has been through has been full of thorns. Rising to the top of the ladder is not easy by any means. Her attitude and commitment for the upliftment of the dalit community has made it possible for her to make her dreams come true. Though she is not in the chair of Chief Minister today, her political continuum can never be questioned.
